Our Monarch Butterflies arrive ready for release in a presentation
quality box. The butterflies are individually packaged in
origami release envelopes. The envelopes can be personalized
for your special event.
The release envelopes keep the butterfly safe during shipping.
The butterflies have plenty of oxygen and the envelopes prevent
their wings from becoming damaged. When kept in a cool, dark
environment, the butterflies remain in a resting state.
When the butterflies arrive, remove the presentation box
from the inside of the shipping box. Simply place the release
box in a cool, dark area (such as on a closet shelf). About
an hour before the release, let the box warm up to room temperature.
Never leave the box in direct sunlight or in a car window.
In hot weather (above 75°), the butterflies should be
transported in a cooler chest with a frozen cold pack taped
down and separated to keep moisture off of the presentation
box.
Release the butterflies outdoors (not during rain and not
after sunset - they need time to find shelter). Do not release
under 60°.
When it is time for the release, distribute the envelopes
to whomever you choose. After the reading of the Native
American Legend, open the envelopes and enjoy the beauty
of your butterlies as they warm their wings and fly for the
sky.
Detailed instructions and photography tips are sent with
the order.
